Wildflowers and Butterflies

Hi there , l'm back today with a quick post using some Creative Expressions stamps . I had some flowers left over from last weeks post and so I decided to use them to make a card .

This card was made using simple shapes that were stamped , embossed and cut out . The dramatic flowers were left over from last weeks project , but to give them a new look I sprayed them with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Shimmer Mists . I just used what I already had which were coppery and Aqua colours and I then chose embossing powder colours to tone in . Therefore this could have been created using any colour scheme as long as the colours toned together .

The base card was made using black foundation card and all the pieces were stamped on the same card . The base layer was stamped using the Stitched Vines stamp and Lapis Sapphire Lustre embossing powder. This powder gives a dark shimmer giving a subtle base . The square was stamped using Delicate Deco Square and Gold Embossing powder. I then cut out both pieces and ran a gold pen around the edges to create a border without matting onto gold card . The quote was stamped and embossed using Aqua Blush Blaze and then cut out and mounted onto gold card . I then stamped two butterflies in the centre of the square frame and two onto some spare card and embossed using the Aqua Blush Blaze powder. I cut out the extra two butterflies.

The base piece was attached to the card towards the lower edge and off centre . I then added some gold lace before adding the square piece and the quote, using foam pads to raise them up a bit .

Finally the flowers were attached using dimensional glue and the extra butterflies were stuck in place .

So instead of having some spare flowers sitting around with nowhere to go , I have a dramatic card which makes good use of those flowers!
