Creative Expressions Blog

Hello , I'm back again with today's Creative Expressions project .
Roses.
I got a little carried away with this , because I love flowers and pretty things .
The base of the project is a Media Board which I painted with Flushed Cheeks . I then cut a piece of card to fit onto the board , which I painted with a mixture of Flushed Cheeks and Perfect White  to make a pale shade of the base colour . I painted another piece of card with the light paint mix , so that I could die cut the flowers ( Perfect Peony Complete Petals ).
I painted the back of the card and the base and edges of the board with a mixture of  Black Fig and Raspberry Riot which makes a lovely dark plum colour .
I used the same paint mix to add colour around the edge of the paper . I also stamped ' crackles ' from Crackled Sentimentality using the paint mix  .
I then stamped the flowers and dots from Silhouette Garden using  Archival Blue Violet ink randomly onto the paper . The leaves , stamped in Jet Black ink , are from the same set of stamps .

I attached a piece of lace from my stash across the top of the media board . The painted and stamped card was torn down the centre and curled before I stuck it onto the board. .
I stamped and embossed in black  the butterfly from the Beautiful Wings set three times and coloured the image with various acrylic paints . I that cut out the images and decoupaged them to create a three dimensional butterfly.
The leaves were die cut and some of them rubbed with Gilding Polish ( sadly I can't remember the colour so pick your own !) .

Finally I created the roses from the die cut flowers . I then attached some lace across the base of the board , and attached the roses , leaves and butterfly as shown .
I hope this gives you some inspiration for using these products.

Memories

Morning to all . Today's project for Creative Expressions is a large tag which I cut out of  Foundations Card . After I had finished decorating it I mounted it on black card to create a border .
The background is a random mix of Chalk Colour inks , Blue Lagoon , Toasted Rose and Misty Grey blended into each other .The next step was to stencil the Peacock Feather mask using a mixture of Decadent Oak and Silver Pearl Texture Pastes .
I completed the background by stamping leaves from Silhouette Garden .

The card on top of the tag was coloured with the same inks . I added a bit of interest by stencilling the Chicken Wire mask with grey ink . The dots were stamped in a grey ink using one of the Inspiring Edges set of stamps . The flowers from the Silhouette Garden set were stamped in black ink .
I used the same dotty stamp which says memories to stamp and emboss the word onto black card .
The flowers were cut from black card using Perfect Peony complete Petal Die . Once cut I used the same mixture of Texture Paste thinly to colour the card .

I added a bit of lace from my stash as shown before attaching the smaller piece of card to the tag . I cut a few leaves using the Olive Branch die to add to the design .
The pearl embellishments were from my CE stash .

A little ribbon adds some glamour !

Fly Free

Hi there , today I am going to share this card with you . I don't have step by step photos because everything can be seen on the photo .
I started with a piece of coconut white card . I didn't cut it to size until after I had added the coloured background so that I could choose where I placed the sun .
Using Chalk Cloud Blending Inks I created the background. I started with Vanilla Twist rubbing it in a circle extending out beyond where the sun would be . I then cut a circle of paper to mask the sun and rubbed Terracotta round the mask . I continued to add Colour spreading out from the sun adding Enchanted Blossom and then Misty Grey  . Drag a little Misty Grey across the sun to suggest clouds . At this point I trimmed the card to the size I wanted  and then added some Chic Aubergine Colour Cloud ink to the edges .

I stamped the foliage from Silhouette Garden,  in Watering Can to create shadow like images . The flowers are from the same stamp set , but stamped in Jet Black . The butterflies are from Beautiful Wings stamp set  .

I stamped ' fly Free '  onto a small piece of card coloured with the inks already used and mounted it onto black card .

I used black card to create the card and mounted the picture onto the card . The caption was added using foam pads to raise it a little .

Using the Chalk Cloud Blending Inks creates a lovely soft , matte background for the stamped images  .

I hope this inspires you to try the inks and lovely silhouette stamps .
