Creative Expressions Tuesday

Glorious Daisy

Hello there , welcome to my regular post for Creative Expressions . Today I have made a pretty card using one stamp and one die . The central deign is stamped onto parchment paper and layered to create dimension.

I used the thin edge die from the die set to cut out a square piece of parchment so that the edges looked lacy . The corners are untidy but that doesn't matter as they will be covered . I then stamped and embossed the daisy using Ivory powder . I stamped three other daisies in the same way . I then coloured the daisy with colouring pencils .

I cut out the three separate daisies removing parts of the design from each piece as shown . I curved the petals of each flower to give them some shape .  These pieces were then attached to the base design using dimensional glue so that the flower looked  dimensional.

Using the same die I cut a square of gold mirror card slightly bigger than the parchment. I then cut a
square of coloured card that would fit under the parchment and on top of the mirror card . I stuck this
to the mirror card and then attached the parchment on top ( using glue only at the corners so it would
be hidden) .

I finished the card by covering a card blank with more of the coloured card and sticking a piece of Silky Crush ribbon across the lower part of the card . The main panel was then attached. I added a bow made from the same ribbon and then attached fabric flowers from my stash to the corners to hide  the untidy corners and glue . I coloured the flat backed pearls with alcohol markers to tone with the colour of the card .
The colours of this card could all be changed to suit your colour palette, although I did find that the daisy stood out better on a darker background.
